Throughout my life I have developed communication and relationship skills working with a diverse range of people. Whether I was leading a team as an executive chef, owner/operating businesses, Human Resource manager or leading a team of counsellors for a community organization, my career choices have always required human interaction, communication and connection.
With a strong desire to better understand my own values, beliefs and behaviours I completed a Bachelor of Applied Social Science, majoring in Counselling, at the Australian College of Applied Psychology. Continued learning and personal development allows me to reflect on my own life experiences relating to grief and loss, relationships, sexuality, cultural identity, family issues, existential anxiety, addictions and life’s ongoing challenges. We are all just human, we all make mistakes and we all deserve support through life’s highs and lows, achievements and misfortunes. Together we will discuss the concerns you are facing, explore the impact of how you exist in the world, develop new opportunities and discover the ways you really want to live your life.
As a counsellor and psychotherapist, I continue to develop my therapeutic skills and to work with an integrative approach that includes existential, humanistic, mindfulness and person-centered practices. The quality of the therapeutic relationship is a core element of the counselling process. Exploring the meaning of our lives and building our capacity to have rich and meaningful relationships that connects us to friends, colleagues, partners and families, helps direct the therapy process. Learning to live with freedom, trust, love and authenticity can be life long outcomes of counselling.
I divide my time between private practice located in Waterloo and co-managing a team of professional counsellors at an NGO in Sydney.
